Sunde Engineering provided full-service site civil engineering for Shepherd's Path, a 76-acre continuing care retirement community in Prior Lake, Minnesota — one of the most comprehensive mixed-use senior living developments in the Twin Cities metro. Our civil engineering scope included site grading and earthwork, stormwater management, grading and drainage design, erosion control, sewer and water utilities, and watershed district permitting and agency coordination across a large, multi-phase site with a wide range of building types and uses.
The scale and complexity of Shepherd's Path required careful coordination across multiple concurrent development phases — integrating townhouse and brownstone residential units, independent and assisted living facilities, memory care, skilled nursing, and a 25,000 square foot town center into a cohesive, fully serviced site. Sunde Engineering civil engineering team managed the full scope of site infrastructure design to ensure each phase of the community could be delivered efficiently and in proper sequence.
The establishment of community gardens in 2009 reflects the long-term, community-focused vision that defined Shepherd's Path from the outset — and Sunde Engineering ability to support a development team through an extended, multi-phase engagement on a site of this scale and ambition.
